Safe Grad is a plan to organize an enjoyable but accident and incident free graduation celebration. The purpose of Safe Grad is to eliminate accidents, death and misfortune by promoting safe practices among young persons so as not to experience difficulty with alchohol and drugs. That safe celebration, known as Safe Grad, is now widely accepted and is an intergral part of graduation in nearly all Manitoba high schools.
Absolute Rules for Safe Grad:
Safe Grad takes place immediately following the dinner and dance portion of the evening. Everyone will be asked to exit the ballroom in order to get the room ready for Safe Grad. During this time, parents will sign in their son and his guest at the Safe Grad registration table. Parents will then leave and return at pick up time (no later than 2:00 am). Grads and their guest may only be signed out and picked up by the person(s) on the Driver Consent Form- there are no exceptions to this rule. Pick up drivers will be asked to provide photo ID.
The St. Paul's High School Grad Committee is made up of parent volunteers who work collaboratively with the school to organize a fun, memorable, and SAFE party for our grads and their guests. They oversee the entertainment, food, prizes, safety and medical. The Safe Grad Committee adheres to the rules and regulations of Safe Grad Manitoba and the RBC Convention Centre while also ensuring that the ethos of St. Paul's High School is engrained into the event.
