Students, Parents & Guardians: 

St. Paul’s High School has become aware of a positive COVID-19 case in our community. In learning this information, St. Paul’s High School proactively reached out to Public Health to review the situation and learned that this particular case has been deemed low-risk. In a call earlier today, Public Health confirmed that: 

Our distancing protocols and cleaning procedures minimized close contacts and are not only satisfactory but exceed expectations laid out by Public Health. 

Please note: the school is not permitted to release the name or any identifying information about the confirmed case of COVID-19 to any member of the school, community or media. 

Prior to learning about the positive case, St. Paul’s High School planned and executed the following safety enhancements which were implemented as of 9:30 a.m. this morning: 

  • Reallocated staff and hired additional staff to supervise “flex spaces” to enforce physical distancing while students are on unscheduled periods; this includes the MultiPlex, Loggia, and cafeteria.
  • Converted the Loggia above the MultiPlex to a “flex space” with 2 m distanced seating with direct supervision.
  • Removed benches from the student links to avoid congregation of students.

St. Paul’s High School continues to put student safety and success at the forefront of what we do. We are committed to providing your son with the highest quality education and will continue to not only meet but exceed the provincial protocols for safety while maximizing in-class learning. 

We remind students, parents/guardians, and staff to follow the directives from Manitoba Public Health, including:

  • Staying home if you are sick or when any member of your family is sick.
  • Reducing social contacts; social gatherings are discouraged.
  • Self-isolating pending COVID-19 test results, or self-isolating if someone in your household is symptomatic, pending COVID-19 test results.
