A beautiful day greeted all Cross Country runners as over 1200 runners converged on Spruce Woods Provincial Park for the MHSAA Provincial Championships.

The Junior Varsity runners were the first to take the stage and the Crusaders didn't disappoint. Led by Grade 10 speedster Jake Taylor (8th), and followed by Cory Fredrickson (13th), grade 9 Jonny Hooker (16th),Cameron Franzman (21) and Eric Fawkes (24) rounded out the scoring for the Cru.

The Crusaders team score of 25 was the lowest of all teams and the Cru captured the Provincial Championship for the 13th time in 14 years.

The Varsity team finished a heart breaking 4th place only a few points away from 2nd. Switching sports for a day was Grade 12 speedster Simon Meier who placed a very respectable 22nd. Right behind him was grade 11 runner Ryan McDonald (23)  followed closely by Max Piche (34). Byce Stubbings and Ben Penner rounded out the scoring for the Cru.

Congratulations to all Crusaders who ran their hearts out and a very demanding course today.
