In Crusader Golf action today, Derek East and Jeff Havixbeck added their names to the MBCI Invitational Golf Tournament as team champions for the third straight year. Noted local professional player, Rob McMillan of MBCI, is the only other player in the almost 20 years of tournament history to have accomplished this feat back in the mid-90s.

Derek East was the medalist with a score of 73, Tyler Ibrahim counted a 78 and Jeff managed an 80 for a team total 231, 10 strokes better than rival Vincent Massey. St Paul's and Massey will renew their rivalry this Thursday in league match play. St Paul's A Flight team fourth Zach Zayac was forced to withdraw due to injury.

On the B flight side, St Paul's managed a second place team finish, losing by 6 strokes to the Garden City Fighting Gophers. Leading the way on the B Flight team was Sean Angus at 81, Steven Setka at 84, Randy Pennycook at 86 and Cameron Krisko with a 90.

These scores were excellent given that the conditions for golf were extremely unpleasant with non-stop wind, rain and cold temperatures. Congratulations to all the players for their strong efforts and excellent results.
