Current Bison starting linebacker and Crusader alumnus Thomas Hall ’07 has been awarded one of the most prestigious Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Awards available to student athletes across the country.

The Russ Jackson award is presented annually to the CIS football player best exemplifying the attributes of academic achievement, football skill, and citizenship and is named in honour of Canadian Football League Hall of Famer and former Ottawa Rough Riders and McMaster University quarterback, Russ Jackson.

Thomas had an outstanding sophomore year for the Bisons registering 38.5 tackles. Thomas aspires to study medicine and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average to win CIS Academic All-Canadian status in his first year of eligibility. His charity work in support of Cancer research and in support of St Paul’s High School was also noted as factors in his award.
