 On a perfect running day at Assiniboine Park, the Crusader Cross Country team got off to a great start for their first West Winnipeg Athletic Conference meet.

The Junior Varsity boys won the team title with a incredibly low score of 24 points, 2nd place was Oak Park with 123 points. The Cru were led by grade 10 runner Graham Lock who placed 2nd overall, followed by the multi-talented James Teschuck 3rd, and grade nine newcomer Will Koltek in 4th. Rounding out the top five scorers were Christian Johnston in 6th and another grade 9 runner Simon Meier in 7th. In all the Crusaders had 11 runners in the top 15. Great performance guys!

In the Varsity race Shiloh Johnson used his great kick to sprint to victory to win the overall race. He led the team to victory with 30 points, 2nd place was FRC with 90 points.

Also running great for the Crusaders was Evan Pfrimmer 4th, Neil Redpath 5th, Garret Niemen with the biggest improvement in a year placed 9th, and Nick Leskiw was 11th.

The Crusader will continue their hard training as they get ready for the next race to be held at Crescent Drive Park on Thursday, Sept. 20.
