On Thursday, December 4th the St. Paul's High School Alumni Association held its first Business Mentorship Presentation with Mark Chipman '78, Executive Chairman of the Board of True North Sports & Entertainment Limited, Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club and Governor of the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club.

The sold out event, attended by many generations of Crusaders, featured a Q & A style interview conducted by SPHSAA President Joe Fiorentino '81 followed by questions from the audience. Chipman spoke about his time at St. Paul's and later at the University of North Dakota and how those experiences shaped him into the man he is today. Mark spoke candidly about his business interests and the inherent characteristics of a good leader, specifically mentioning the impact his late father, R.M Chipman '44, had on him not only as a business leader but also as a father and human being. Although the Chipman family has been extremely blessed with successful, diversified businesses, Mark explained that the most rewarding and fulfilling work is done through the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation where he has helped thousands of young people in our community since its inception.

The night raised over $1,000 for the St. Paul's High School Bursary Fund.

Future speakers scheduled for the new year include:

Paul Soubry '80 - CEO of New Flyer Industries

Paul Mahon '81 - CEO Great West Life Co.

Gerald Diamond '83 - Owner/President Diamond Athletic Medical Supplies
